Geeta’s holistic pedagogy integrates classical dance learning with other diverse disciplines and values. As an arts administrator, mentor and philanthropist, Geeta supports various causes, is greatly committed to arts education in formal curricula, and leads social campaigns.
Her dynamic performances reflect her vision of an interconnected, inclusive, and transformative cultural experience. In October 2024, she will be marking 50 years of engagement with Bharatanatyam since her arangetram in 1974.
In her five-decade career committed to Dance, Geeta has been honoured with the Padmashri (2007); the Central Sangeet Natak Akademi Award (2016); the Tagore National Fellowship (2017-2018) and the NRITYA CHUDAMANI (2024) bestowed by the Sree Krishna Gana Sabha, Chennai.
Geeta Chandran curated Dance at prestigious Serendipity Arts Festival in 2022 and 2023; and she continues to be Curator in 2024.

Born near Coimbatore in a farming family, he did his master’s in horticulture and then a law degree. But his lifetook a sharp turn after he joined the IPS in1964.
Mr. Karthikeyan led a group of “Yatris” (pilgrims) on a month-long trekking to Kailash-Manasarovar, the holiest of holy places for Hindus, Buddhists and Jains in Tibet-China. He also visited Jerusalem, the holiest city for Christians and Jews and the second holiest place for Muslims. He travels widely and addresses gatherings in educational institutions, professional gatherings, police and other training academies, and public functions where he speaks on socially relevant subjects such as values, human rights, leadership, crisis management and investigation. Mr. Karthikeyan presently holds the position of Director General, National Human Rights Commission, India.

At Parmarth Niketan, Rishikesh, She gives daily spiritual discourses and satsang, teaches meditation, provides counseling and oversees myriad charitable and humanitarian projects and activities.
